Operation

Once power is connected, the active LED on the front of the M1050K will blink continuously. During an off-hook condition, the active LED will stay on without blinking. Two push buttons are located on top of the M1050K. A LED in each button indicates if the switch is on.

Pressing the "OFF HOOK" switch answers the call on the voice terminal. (Similar to lifting the handset.) Pressing the switch again turns off the adapter and disconnects the transmit and receive to the adapter, quivalent of going on-hook.

The second switch is the "MUTE" switch. This switch mutes the 4 wire transmitter and handset transmit for privacy during a call. This is a momentary switch, it will mute only as long as it is held down.

• Beep tone

  The beep tone produces a 200ms 1400hz tone burst every 15 seconds. The tone is audible to both parties. A switch on the back of the M1050K turns the beep tone on or off.

• Radio interface

  The 4 wire broadcast audio provides an interface between the operators Centracom II radio system and their telephone console through a single headset. The module is used with Motorola's Telephone/headset interface board. This allows the dispatcher to interface with radio traffic on a normal basis until a call on the telephone console is active.

  With Motorola's Telephone/headset interface board connected and Motorola's headset jack plugged in, the selected audio from the console speaker is routed to the headset earphone. When the M1050K "OFF HOOK" button is pressed, an off-hook condition is established on the telephone console. The telephone receive audio is then routed to the earphone, while the radio select audio is routed back to the console speakers. • Rear connections

  • RECORD AUDIO is a 4 wire line jack for recorder audio and recorder start closure.
  • VOICE TERMINAL connects the voice terminal's handset transmit and receive audio to the M1050K.
  • RADIO INTERFC provides a 4 wire broadcast audio interface with an off-hook signal output and remote off-hook input.
