The audio output from the MI6400 is coupled to 2 jacks on the 64XXD+ sets.
The MI6400 connects between the voice terminal and the PBX, allowing the recorder audio to use existing spare conductors in the line cord. The line jack retains all the same connectivity as the original jack, plus it provides the analog audio output for recording. Refer to the table for the pin assignments.

The record audio is also coupled to a mini phone jack on the back of the set. Use the MA1 cable supplied with the MI6400 to connect from this jack to a desktop recorder.
The MI6400 operates from the voice terminal's power.
Two option switches are located on the right side of the set. The switch on the left controls the record-on-demand feature. The switch on the right controls the beep tone function.
The factory default mode for the beep tone option is on.
You must program the 2nd feature button from the bottom on the right hand side of the set for: MAN-MSG-WT. (Manual message waiting)
The set will prompt you for an extension number. Enter your extension number. Label this feature button "ROD".
The factory default mode for the record-on-demand feature is disabled.
When this feature is disabled, the audio is always recorded when the set is in use.
Move the ROD option switch to the right to enable selective recording. Once you have enabled record-on-demand, use the "ROD" feature button to toggle the record-on-demand feature on or off.
For headset use, you must program the bottom feature button on the right hand side of the set for: HEADSET
Using this feature button for the headset function allows the recording features of the MI6400 to work with the headset. (Not available on the 6408D+.)
