Description

In addition to the standard features found on the MLX set, the recorder interface module (RIM) provides audio of both sides of a conversation for recording purposes. The module is factory mounted in the base of the MLX voice terminal.

• Features

  The RIM provides the following:

  1. Recording audio when using the handset, headset or speakerphone.
  2. Optional beep tone at 15 second intervals.

Installation

The RIM is factory installed. The analog audio output (recorder audio) has 2 outputs:

1. Pair 2 of the line jack. This is pins 1 & 2 of the line jack, or the orange/white pair.
2. The mini-phone jack on the rear of the set. Use a patch cord with a mini-phone plug on one end, and the proper connector for your recorder on the other end. An attenuating type patch cord is not recommended.

   You can connect to a recorder direct from this jack, located on the rear of the set. MLX-10DP shown, other sets are similar.

• Headset

  To record from a headset, the user must program the lower right feature button for headset status. Refer to Avaya’s user’s guide or check with your administrator if you are not familiar with programming feature buttons.

RIM options

• Beep tone

• MLX-10DP

  The beep tone is set by a toggle switch on the MI-30 RIM. Remove the desktop stand from the terminal. Remove the pedestal from the back of the voice terminal. The RIM is located inside the pedestal. Locate toggle switch SW1 on the RIM. An arrow and "on" are marked on the RIM by the switch. Push the switch in the direction of the arrow to set the beep tone on. The default position is "on".

• MLX-16DP

  The beep tone is set by a toggle switch accessed through a hole on the back of the voice terminal. Locate the access hole on the upper left corner on the back of the set. Push the switch left for "on", right for "off". The default position is "on".

• MLX-20L and MLX-28D

  The beep tone is set by a toggle switch accessed through a hole on the back of the voice terminal. Remove the desktop stand. Remove the pedestal from the back of the voice terminal. Locate the access hole towards the upper left on the back of the set. Push the switch up for "on, down for "off". The default position is "on".
