When the processor card is first powered, it sets all input and output drivers off. Any input differences which remain stable for .2 seconds are then reported as alarms. From 1 to 7 numbers can be stored for dialing. After an alarm is detected one of the numbers is randomly selected. The number must have at least 4 and less than 22 digits. The processor then goes off hook, dials the number and waits for the distant processor to respond.
A response tone from the distant processor initiates the tone sequence for the detected alarm. Data error correction is used to validate the message integrity. If errors are detected, the receiving processor will request a resend. Resends are limited to 3.
If no response is received from the distant processor within 30 seconds after dialing completes, the processor disconnects the call and tries again. If other dialing numbers are stored, the processor will make the next call to a different number and retry the initial number afterwards. Numbers are redialed with unsuccessful completions for up to 7 times.
After the distant processor receives an alarm, it acknowledges its receipt and disconnects the call. It then grounds its corresponding output to turn an indicator on. This indicator will remain on until an alarm message is received that turns it off or a power failure occurs.
To store, change or delete telephone numbers the processor card is called. If the card is connected as a PBX station it is best to make the call using an outside trunk. Station to station touch tone levels from a telephone are sometimes too high.
When the processor goes off hook it will reply with a short tone. The password must be dialed to enter the maintenance routine. All password entries must be completed within 15 seconds or the unit will disconnect. After the password is entered successfully, a 3 tone reply will be heard.
To exit the maintenance mode enter "#" by itself and the processor will disconnect. It will also disconnect if loop current is interrupted or if 5 minutes expires.
The first digit is the number selector "1" thru "7". This is followed by the number ending with a "#". Station numbers are used if 2 cards are connected as PBX stations. Storing a "*" with the number will cause a 2 second delay for second dial tone. Numbers may be station, local or long distance.
Enter the first digit selector of the number to be deleted and follow it with a "#".
The first digit is "8" followed by the password and ending with a "#". The password may be 15 digits long.
The first digit is "9" followed by "1" for on or "2" for off followed by the indicator number "01" thru "16" and ending with a "#".
