The VR100 mounts in a type 10 shelf equipped with a 56-pin card edge connector.
24vdc at 100ma is required for each VR100 installed. Power connects to pins 2 and 4, refer to the wiring chart.
Refer to the "WIRING CHART" table below.

There are two methods for recording a message: direct recording (option A) and dial-up recording (option B). JP1 determines how the VR100 records.
Connect the VR100 to a Central Office or PBX station line. Dial the number that the VR100 is connected to. It will answer after the first ring and send out a short acknowledge tone. Touch-tone in the password ending with a "#". A three-tone reply is received. The factory password is 12345#. A message can now be recorded or played, and the password can be changed. Touch-tone commands are as follows.
A short on the "Play Input" puts the VR100 into the play mode. If JP2 is set to A, the VR100 plays the entire message. If JP2 is set to B, the VR100 plays the message until the short on the play input is removed. The message will repeat until the input short is removed.
Two output shorts are available for external use.
When JP1 is set to A, the "Busy" output indicates when the VR100 is in the record or playback mode.
If JP1 is set to B, the "Busy" output indicates a busy condition on the telephone line. This is used to disconnect and block barge-in expansion cards so that callers do not hear control tones or the initial recorded message (until the new message is completed and the caller disconnects).
The "end announcement" output presents a 100 msec pulse at the end of each play cycle. This is used to disconnect callers in a barge-in system after receiving the message twice.
